HAIR

How you wear your hair at your wedding is important. It should compliment not only your face but your dress as well. Above all else, your wedding hairstyle has to be comfortable.
• Plan ahead. Yes, you should be comfortable in your chosen hairstyle for the special occasion, but remember it should be as formal as your dress. Your hairstyle should not look like you are going to a sporting event (unless you'd wear the dress there). You want to have a trial style, maybe more than once, with the hair accessories. Bring a picture of the dress and pictures of hairstyles you like and then let the hairstylist help you decide what would be perfect for your hair length, etc. It may take several visits to prep the color as well. • Always carry a comb and pocket-sized can of hairspray with you or have your attendant carry it for you. Have extra bobby pins on hand for emergencies. Submitted by: Bride Theresa S.
• Wedding head bands adorned with jewels have become a favored wedding hair accessory for brides preferring a simple and elegant look. Particularly popular because of their suitability for all hair lengths, wedding head bands are the perfect answer for short haired brides who are often limited by the choice available. Wedding head bands are often adorned floral, butterfly or bow designs and are usually set with crystals or beads.
• Hair pins are one of the most popular hair accessories for brides and bridesmaids. Many brides choose to wear their hair up because a neatly styled up-do is guaranteed to remain chic and stylish throughout the day. Although hair styles such as a chignon or French pleat are classic, they sometimes require accessories to soften the look. Wedding hair pins are perfect for such hair styles, adding subtle sparkle for a timeless look. Popular designs range from butterflies, intricate floral and vintage inspired ornate design and are often set with crystals.
• Try to get a rough idea of what sort of hairstyle you want for your wedding as far in advance as possible. This gives your hair a chance to grow to a length that is more manageable for your hair stylist. After all long hair can easily be cut, but it is harder and more expensive to add to your hair.
• If an updo requires a lot of help to stay up, then it probably isn't right. Your wedding hairstyle has to stay in place for up to 10 hours! This is a lot to ask of any hairstyle but particularly difficult when a veil is attached, you are being swung around the dance floor and everyone wants to hug you!!
